Inside My Fortress
In a Fortress of Radical Subversion I sleep
I eat and sweat through Sisyphian Labors
From Bluegrass I rise willing the sky an emerald Green
Victory is not my goal, only revolution
Undying, unending, around and around
So once again the Phoenix may rise
from fire and ash a destruction never ending
In this crazed temple the extremism of liberties most distant edge
raised before me I worship proud and unprostrate
In her deepest chambers the wisdom of the ages is flogged
Beaten to infirmity with sublime humor and hoodwink irony
Mine eyes glaze glowing Promethean fire
refusing nature, God and Man as One
Yea, as none they exert influence on that will
which resides inside this fortress.

"I used to think she was quite
intelligent in my stupidity. The reason I did was because she knew quite
a lot about the theater and plays and literature and all that stuff. If
somebody knows quite a lot about those things, it takes you quite a while
to find out whether they're really stupid or not." - J. D. Salinger,
Catcher in the Rye
