It was around Christmas of 2001 when Bob Morley and John Valentine began a quest. It was to be a simple journey through two 1.5 liter magnums of cheap red wine. As they were drinking they started playing songs that they and a circle of elite drinking buddies had written. Towards the bottom of the first bottle they began reflecting on this multitude of tunes and wondered whether they might ever record them. There were a number of problems with this idea. One was getting all the souls involved with these songs in one place at any given moment. Another more pressing problem was there was no possible way they would ever have the financial resources to rent one of those fancy music industry studios where you are only allowed bottled water and coffee to drink. "To hell with it!" They said, "who wants to record in a place like that anyways." Besides, these were campfire songs. So they uncorked the second magnum of wine and kept picking and singing. Somewhere in the middle of the second bottle their thoughts turned to the world at large. "Mankind is doomed," they concluded, "and it wont be long now... not with them damn Bin Laden's and Bush's on the loose." Their mood became more somber and the lesser played woeful songs came out. But somewhere around the bottom of the second bottle the good Lord spoke to Bob and John in a mighty vision. "Servants of mine who have served me so well!" Boomed the mighty voice. "Ye shall record the songs and ye shall record them in the manner in which thou hast always played them in an unbroken circle of love with thine fellow brothers within my service. Ye shall do this and call these songs 'CAMPFIRE SONGS FOR THE APOCALYPSE' so that the fires in the hearts of man shall in no way falter through times of tribulation." And the two drunk bastards did tremble with fear and wonder. So now the process has began. At first they recorded the songs around a literal campfire until Tommy2Toes burned down two houses. It is a work without end. Songs will be made available on this web page and one day you will be able to purchase CD's if you feel your ears have the fortitude and strength to bear witness to such powerful audio forces.
